Another great find by Micah, this wonderful company, who sells prints of some very amazing photographs. We all got to pick our favorites, and the company shipped them out to us promptly, with the photo framed and everything! Score! Here’s what we each think of the product and the process:

Having just moved to another neighborhood in downtown DC over the weekend, I’m so happy to be able to dawn my fresh walls with some new artwork. The folks over at McMahanPhoto.com have simplified my decorating aspirations by having a huge selection of prints for the right price. For those who’ve moved beyond simply hanging tapestries and posters, this is absolutely the way to go to add a bit of sophistication and class to any wall. Bonus points if you know the real magic of proper lighting to get the most out of your art.
After pouring over all of the available prints, I favored those from the NASA section, specifically the one called “Keyhole Nebula Hubble Space Telescope“. What grabbed me about this specific piece is a cluster/formation in the top left that appears to be giving the finger. Unlike other impersonal F U’s the universe throws at us (solar showers, asteroids, the plague, auto tuner), I wholeheartedly respect such a direct and open communication from the heavens. No room for error here, no wishy-washy or as the late George Carlin put it “spooky language”, just a universal clenched fist with middle finger raised at an angle and time when we humans just happen to be looking in that direction. Seems math isn’t the only universal language after all.
Upon arrival, (which was pretty fast from NY to DC), I was pleased that the print and frame were packaged and well protected for shipping, and included some mounting hardware too. The print was of great quality, with the beautifully intricate details and colors necessary for a print of the heavens. While the package didn’t seem to include glass, I honestly only unpackaged it enough to see it quickly before stowing it away so as not to get it damaged in my impending move.
The website was extremely easy to navigate, and the pictures loaded quickly so I didn’t have to wait long to see each one load. They have a decent selection of prints to choose from so any common Joe can decorate on a dime…though I would’ve totally gone with one of several Jackson Pollock prints if any were offered. Still, I’ll absolutely recommend this site for decorating your own place, or choosing a gift for someone else.

I ordered the print The Beatles Arrive at JFK Airport 1964 because The Hubs and I are rabid Beatles fans. I opened the package, and a small print of a close up of the faces of the Fab Four looked up at me. The print was framed, and it was beautiful. I thought I remembered the scene being bigger, but I figured if McMahan and company wanted me to have a closer up of the faces, so be it.
Fast forward a day, and I’m at school, on break (intermission) from a two hour and forty minute class. I call The Hubs to check in and he’s all, “Guess what?” Turns out that there was a larger, wider shot of the scene, MATTED and framed, in the same package. Needless to say, we were both over the moon.
Whatever good karma juju that yielded me TWO prints instead of one – I’ll just say thank you. I will happily recommend this company for your home art needs.

I actually found this company on Ebay. I had a transaction with them, and was really super happy with the experience. I decided to ask them if they wanted to be reviewed here on our awesome website, and they were very happy to do it. I ordered Fire Fighter World Trade Center 9/11 NYC. Check it out:
Times are super tough right now. It’s hard to find the money to feed yourself and your pets, much less buy art for your walls. This company not only has great product, but it’s a reasonable price that makes me think it might be time to take down the NKOTB posters (finally) and start decorating with Real Art.

Update: I unpacked my framed print last night and found that it did have glass in the frame, and was all ready to hang. I must say, I’m very impressed and couldn’t be happier! Muchas Gracias!
